Collection: Mary Janes
This shoe of Spanish origin is known as "merceditas," although some call them espadrilles, ballerinas, or Mary Janes. In Spain, they are called merceditas after Queen Maria Mercedes of Orleans ("Mercedita" is an affectionate way of referring to a Mercedes), to whom her husband, King Alfonso XII, gave a pair of shoes with a bow (a characteristic of merceditas). She popularized the use of these shoes in royal and upper-class circles in 19th-century Europe.
In our atelier , we design and manufacture to flatter the shape of the foot with a design that transitions easily through all seasons. Our version of this classic and timeless shoe of Iberian origin offers comfort thanks to its soft velvet and cotton fabrics, as well as functionality with its non-slip sole.
Our Mary Janes are handmade, so it is normal for the shoe to have some irregularities, which should not be considered a defect but a characteristic of a handcrafted product.
